Mr. Hahn litigates employment claims from pre-suit through appeal. He represents private and public sector employers in litigation involving all aspects of employer/employee relationships. He litigates claims in state and federal courts and handles administrative hearings before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Maryland Committee on Human Rights, and the District of Columbia Office of Human Rights. His experience in representing employers in employment litigation includes:

*       Represented a major health care provider in a successful defense against claims by a former employee of sexual harassment and retaliatory discharge.

*       Obtained summary judgment on behalf of a local college dismissing claims by an applicant for employment alleging disability discrimination.

*       Obtained dismissal of numerous discrimination charges for private employers in Washington D.C. and Maryland involving claims of race, gender, age, disability, pregnancy, harassment, and retaliation before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and local fair employment practices agencies.

*       Defended major corporate clients in claims of tortious interference with contractual relations arising out of employment agreements with covenants not to compete and also prosecuted such claims on behalf of companies against former employees and their new employers.

*       Represented a major landscape contractor in connection with a dispute with the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs over hiring and wage setting practices.

*       Represented a major mortgage brokerage operation in a class action alleging violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act relating to payment of overtime premium wages.

*       Lead counsel in cases brought by client corporations alleging tort, contract and statutory claims, including Civil RICO racketeering actions, against former employees, including a multi-week jury trial that resulted in a verdict in favor of the client on claims of commercial bribery and conspiracy.

*       Defended companies and individuals in claims alleging violations of employees’ constitutional rights to freedom of speech and expression.
